Handmade Hoops by Peachysteve
One Handed Jump In
Taken from Chapter 4 of
"Hooping"
An Instructional DVD by Peachysteve
This is essentially the same move as the one handed step in.
As you jump rather than step into the hoop, it all happens in one rotation.
There's no need to turn during this move, it's all in the arm curl.
Starting from overhead circles with arm two Swing the hoop out to the side in a large circle with palm facing upward.
You can jump both leg in together or one at a time. I jump leg two in first. Your palm is still facing upward.
As you hand comes to the front change your grip from palm up to palm down.
As the hoop comes from a large swing and is already quite high it's easier to keep the momentum of the hoop going Lift back up into overhead circles and you are ready for another go. |
Keep your wrist loose again during this move.
Here you can get an idea of how this move looks.
