Handmade Hoops by Peachysteve
Alternating Arms
Taken from Chapter 2 of
"Hooping"
An Instructional DVD by Peachysteve
Once you can hoop with each arm up through the hoop you can try to alternate the arms.
To start with you can try to put one arm through, bring it back down and then raise the other arm when you feel ready.
Bring the second arm down and raise the first.
After a few attempts you'll be ready to try a rhythmical movement. A bit like a Travolta dance move.
To do this you'll need to bring Arm One down as you raise Arm Two when the space in the hoop is in front of you.
Each time the space moves across the front, switch arms.
Because the exchange happens when the space is at the front and travelling toward Arm One,
the exchange Arm Two - Arm One has a little more time so tends to be smoother than Arm One - Arm Two.
